Leadership
Stephan
Cooper
President
Cooper was named president of United
Heartland in January 2010, bringing 21 years
of property-casualty experience to the
position. He had previously served as Vice
President of Claim Operations & TPA at
Accident Fund Insurance Company of America
since 2006. Prior to joining Accident Fund,
he served in a variety of service center and
claims leadership positions at Specialty
Underwriters Alliance, General Electric
Insurance Solutions, Metropolitan Life
Insurance Company and Travelers Insurance
Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Political Science from Central
Michigan University and an MBA from Indiana
Wesleyan University.
Greg Donovan
Vice President of Field Operations
Donovan joined United Heartland as vice
president of Field Operations in April 2010.
He is responsible for leading the functions
and operations of the Underwriting and Risk
Management Services departments in all
United Heartland field offices. Prior to
joining United Heartland, Donovan held
various executive underwriting and sales
positions at insurance companies and
agencies, including Aon Risk Services, HNI
Company, Frank F. Haack & Associates and
Home Insurance Company. Donovan graduated
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
with a Bachelor of Arts in Political
Science.
Patrick
Walsh
Vice President of
Claims and Managed Care
Walsh came to United Heartland as vice
president of Claims and Managed Care in
August 2010, bringing nearly 25 years of
insurance industry experience to the
position. He is responsible for creating,
implementing and monitoring the strategic
direction and operational plans of the
United Heartland Claims department. Prior to
joining United Heartland, he held a variety
of executive claims and large account
management positions at insurance companies,
including Sentry Insurance Company, Kemper
Insurance Company and, most recently, The
Hartford. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Organizational Communications from the
University of Akron.
Lisa Wills
Vice President of Strategic Planning and
Corporate Relations
As vice president of Strategic Planning and
Corporate Relations, Wills is responsible
for leading all strategic planning
activities; developing and implementing
strategies that enhance communication within
the company; and leading efforts that
provide critical information needed to run
and monitor the overall health of United
Heartland. She joined United Heartland in
1993 and has held positions in various areas
of the company, from entry-level to
executive roles. Prior to her current role,
she served as vice president of
Administration. Wills graduated from
Marquette University with a Bachelor of
Science in Mathematics.
